Reading

Students in our reading programs make substantial gains in reading skills and reach their full potential as readers. We offer a variety of courses for all levels, from mastering phonics to reading classics.

  • While student reviews vocabulary words using flashcards and memorizes, teacher checks homework.

  • Student starts the introductory part of classwork.

  • Teacher discusses introductory material with student after student has read it to check comprehension. Teacher then checks student's work as he/she proceeds through classwork.

  • Student goes over teacher's comments on previous book report.

  • Teacher explains homework assignment. For younger students, teacher asks student to repeat assignment to check comprehension.

  • Student makes flashcards for words learned during class.
