RT OASIS Program

Personal Care & Intervention

  • Personal Academic Mentors (PAM) assist the students in daily routines from their arrival to Intensive After School (IAS).
  • Guidance counselors from schools and legal guardians counsel the students on a regular basis to discuss academic achievements and school life. Their progress is reported to their parents via email and/or internet video conferencing system.
  • Program Coordinators at ReadingTown verify, analyze, and administer the progress and achievements of 1:3 tutoring classes by native teachers.
  • After School Academic Counselors aid students with homework and provide 500-Book Intensive Reading and Debate classes as part of continued English learning at the student residence halls or dorms.
  • parents receive Quarterly Progress Reports (QPR) on their children’s overall progress and achievements.

Intensive Study

At the end of Overseas Intensive Study program, students will have advanced two American school grade years. After returning, each graduate will be referred to a local ReadingTown Center of Excellent Teens (CET) where they will continue to study and focus on preparation for entering Specialized High Schools.

  • Students live immersed in an actual English speaking environment during the entire program: at the day school, after school program, and the accommodation. They study and communicate only in English (with the exception of Korean school subject classes).
  • During the one year in the program, each student is encouraged to read a minimum of 250 carefully selected books from highly recommended literature in North America.
  • Qualified native teacher’s 1:3 tutoring at IAS guarantees the student’s rapid improvement.
  • We provide an English education of Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening comparable of top 1% in Korea.

Live English Exposure

Students experience the native English school classroom as extended intensive learning.

  • Students participate in extracurricular activities to maximize their learning experience. A special theme is applied to each activity for a fun and educational experience.
  • Children also have the opportunity to invite their classmates from school to the activity sessions as peer mentors to experience friendship and culture.
  • Non-subject sessions are provided for personal development (e.g., music, sports).
